Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture

Ian Abbott

Ian Abbott

Ian Abbott received his Acupuncture diploma from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria in April of 2008. In February and March of 2009 he completed a 1 month internship at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Sichuan province, China. He is currently working towards his 4th year of TCM studies.

Ian has completed his NADA (National Acupuncture Detox Association) training for the treatment of addictions in March of 2007. He also completed training in the Matt Callison Motor Point treatment approach for musculoskeletal disorders. In May of 2009 Ian completed further training in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Diet Therapy approach to health and wellness. In September of 2009 Ian completed a weekend course on ‘5 Element Diagnosis’ with world renowned 5 Element practitioner Lonny Jarrett.

After 11 years of experience working as a Registered Massage Therapist Ian is excited to add Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine to his therapeutic toolkit. The holistic approach of Acupuncture and TCM is the perfect compliment to Ian’s existing treatment philosophy that emphasizes balance and moderation as the keys to a healthy mind and body.

A B.C. native, Ian enjoys all that the West Coast has to offer. His interests include music, photography, and playing in the great outdoors.

Kailie Woods

Kailie graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree from Camosun College in 2005, where she discovered her passion for holistic healing and health care. Venturing further she enrolled at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, receiving her diploma in Acupuncture in the spring of 2008. Eager for more knowledge Kailie ventured to China where she dived into a one month long internship at the Cheng Du Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. Passing all government board exams held by the CTCMA, Kailie is licensed and registered to provide Acupuncture, Tui Na, Moxibustion, Cupping, Herbal Patents and more. She takes pride in catering her treatments to her client's individual needs, working one on one to provide choices and treatments plans aimed at achieving overall optimal health and happiness.

Kailie is also a 500 level trained and certified Yoga Instructor, trained in a variety of different styles of yoga from Ashtanga to Yin. Combining both ancient modalities has given her great awareness and diverse knowledge of the human body. You can often find Kailie offering her client's breath techniques, exercises and simple routines they can carry with them outside of the clinic and into their everyday world.

Recently, Kailie relocated back to Victoria from Whistler, where she was applying her skills at a local Wellness Spa. Her heart belongs in Victoria and she is eager and excited to reconnect with the island community assisting in any way she can. She believes we are all here to contribute to the world in a positive way and looks forward to working with her clients to meet their needs, whether big or small.

Although Kailie was born in the prairies of Alberta, Kailie is definitely a B.C. girl. Outside of the clinic you will find her on the mat, teaching or practicing yoga and enjoying island life and all of the beauty it has to offer.
